A glimpse behind the curtain of the Škoda Museum
A historic hall with a story
The unique visitor experience is enhanced by placing the new exhibition in a space that has itself been part of history. The factory hall, now designated V4, was built in 1906 and from 1907 served as a forge, playing an important role in the expansion of Laurin & Klement production.
Valuable cars awaiting restoration
Most of the 23 displayed automobiles are in as-found or partially restored condition and originate from the years 1913 to 1948. The cars were acquired for the collection exactly as they were discovered after decades in forgotten garages and barns.
The exhibition uses a “garage style” concept that highlights the historical value of each vehicle while naturally complementing the industrial character of the hall. Each car is accompanied by a brief description and detailed information accessible via a QR code.
Part of a broader expansion of the museum
Opening the depository is the first step in the planned expansion of the permanent exhibitions. In 2026, a new hall dedicated to prototypes, design studies, and concepts from the 1950s to the present day will follow.
