Martin Chlupáč, an author of several publications, is presenting this fascinating topic.

The First 100 Years of the Bicycle

Daredevils on bicycles began to appear on the dusty roads of the Bohemian Kingdom in the early 19th century. The bicycle was initially used for sport by groups of enthusiasts. Come and listen to a story involving Klement and Laurin that pre-dates the rise of the automobile. Jan Králík, the author of many publications, is introducing this fascinating topic.

Uhlík’s Beautiful Bodywork

Oldřich Uhlík is considered to be the creator of the most elegant car bodies built on the chassis of domestic and foreign brands in inter-war Czechoslovakia. His beautiful and truly unique bodywork – from sporty designs to majestic limousines – has been preserved to this day. Jan Králík, a well-known publicist and author of many publications on the history of motoring, is discussing the fate of the coachbuilder from Prague’s Strašnice district.

A unique racing design gem from the Škoda Museum collection has been reborn. Having arisen from the dust, it is today a fully functional exhibit demonstrating our forebears’ technical ingenuity. Michal Velebný, coordinator of the Škoda Museum’s restoration workshop, is describing the car’s origins, sporting career, fate and challenging restoration.
