An evening subtitled Magical Night will draw you into the world of great cinematic stories—a world where music is not just an accompaniment, but the main protagonist. It brings the best from the work of legendary composer Hans Zimmer—creator of iconic soundtracks for films such as Gladiator, Interstellar, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, The Lion King, and many others.
Featured as the piano soloist is Ivan Vokáč, one of the most talented Czech cellists and pianists, who will demonstrate his top-tier playing on both instruments during the concert. He is a laureate of numerous international music competitions—to name a few: overall winner alongside violinist Jakub Junek at the Concertino Praga 2006 radio competition. In 2010, he won the scholarship competition organized by the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, and in 2012, as a semifinalist, he became the most successful Czech contestant at the Prague Spring International Music Competition. He is also a proud member of the Cello Republic ensemble, formed by original members of the well-known Prague Cello Quartet, which has performed dozens of concerts across Europe and beyond.
The string quintet, under the baton of Vít Chudý, will add a richness of tones and harmonies perfectly complementing the piano lines for which Hans Zimmer’s music is renowned worldwide.
Special guests and highlights of the evening are phenomenal vocalists Eliška Malík Machačová and Milan Devinne, prominent personalities of the Czech music scene, who will showcase their vocal artistry in several selected compositions.
Come and enjoy an evening with us featuring the music that made cinema history!
